Jim was a commission from Towcester, an affluent market town in West Northamptonshire not far from Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire. We travelled the 50 miles to the stables in Northamptonshire from Exton in Rutland to photograph Jim.
He was so tall that we had to stand on a ladder to get the right shots. Visiting the stables gave me the opportunity to get a flavour of Jim’s personality. Once the customer had chosen her favourite photograph I then proceeded with the painting in gouache Watercolour.
I use other painting mediums too including Oil on canvas, professional artists acrylic and pastel.
The finished painting was mounted & framed at our picture framing workshop in Exton in Rutland and was collected in person by the customer who was delighted with the finished result.

Photographing your horse is free of charge for a portrait painting as long as you live within a 15 mile radius from the village of Exton in Rutland.
There is a travel charge beyond the 15 mile radius.
