This painting of Hattie is from Cheshire in North West of England.
Greater Manchester is to the north-east, Derbyshire to the east. Staffordshire to the south-east, and Shropshire to the south; to the west it is bordered by the Welsh counties of Flintshire and Wrexham.
Their are four colours of the King Charles Cavalier that are recognised: Blenheim (chestnut and white), as is Hattie, tricolour (black/white/tan), black and tan, and ruby; the coat is smooth and silky.
This painting of Hattie the cavalier is painted on Watercolour board showing Penny’s work off at its absolute best. Hand painted on Daler Rowny line and wash in gouache.
