Dear John and Penny,
It looks wonderful, thanks!
If I am supposed to be suggesting improvements, I am struggling! If that is ‘it’, I am happy!
Regards,
Barry.
Hattie: A Cavalier King Charles Portrait in Cheshire
Hattie the Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel won me over in the charming village of Cranage, Cheshire. Her gentle eyes and silky coat were captivating. Bringing her character to life on watercolour board was a joy. I used my signature line-and-wash technique in gouache. I aimed to capture her playful yet affectionate spirit.
Each portrait I create is a collaboration. I work closely with owners to choose the perfect composition. We ensure the background complements the pet. The final painting truly reflects the personality of the pet. For Hattie, every detail mattered — from the glint in her eyes to the subtle waves of her coat.
This painting of Hattie the cavalier is painted on Watercolour board showing Penny’s work off at its absolute best. Hand painted on Daler Rowny line and wash in gouache.
