Architectural Paintings by Artist Penny Richardson
As an artist, I’ve always been fascinated by architecture and the way light plays across stonework, the individuality of every house, and the timeless character of historic buildings. My architectural paintings celebrate these details, whether it’s a centuries-old church, a Georgian townhouse, or a cherished family home that holds special meaning.
I enjoy bringing out the atmosphere of a place through subtle colour, texture, and the relationship between light and shadow. Many of my commissions are of churches, village halls, cottages, manor houses, and even modern homes, all painted to capture their unique charm and personal stories.
Commissioning an Architectural Painting
Every building tells a story, and I love helping clients preserve those stories on canvas. Whether you’d like a painting of your family home, a church that holds sentimental value, or a local landmark, I can work from photographs or visit the location in person to capture its character.
My architectural artworks are painted using high-quality acrylics on canvas or board, ensuring long-lasting vibrancy and detail. Clients often commission these paintings to commemorate special occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, or the sale of a much-loved property.
Architectural Art Across the UK
Although I’m based in the Midlands, my work takes me across the UK. I’ve painted buildings in cities and villages throughout Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and beyond. Each piece is created with care and precision. It aims to reflect not just the structure, but also the feeling of place. This is the atmosphere that makes a building part of someone’s life story.
