Dog Portrait of Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Ernie Testimony
Dear Penny and John
We wanted to say a big, big thank you for our portrait of Ernie.
We still have to do a double take just to make sure you didn’t put the wonderful photo of him you took in there by mistake!
It is in pride of place and we absolutely love it. We also appreciate the detail that John went into choosing the frame to match our existing one.
With our thanks and very best wishes for 2013.
Jane and John McKinney

Helpful tips for taking your own photos
Try to kneel down so that you are at eye level with your animal – not too close as this can distort the angle of view.
Alternatively, place your animal on a bench or wall, this will insure the correct perspective.
(Try to do this with a helper)
The helper needs to stand a little way behind the photographer and make noises using a squeaky toy or by calling.
(A biscuit can encourage an expression)
DO NOT take a photo from above your animal looking down at it, as the size of the head and nose will be exaggerated in proportion to the feet.
Alterations to the dog portrait, if needed
Once your dog portraits are at a stage for viewing, we will scan and send a proof via email for your approval.
As a result, if alterations are necessary I will make the adjustments to the painting and send further proofs until your dog portrait is as you like it.
