Eyebrook reservoir near Uppingham is on the border between Leicestershire and Rutland. There are good views of the reservoir walking on the Rutland Round from Uppingham to Stoke Dry and across to Lyddington. It is a good bird watching area and a number of rare species have been seen. The reservoir has a famous history as it was the test area for the ‘bouncing bomb’ used in the Dambuster raids during World Word II. It was built between 1937 and 1940.
