Penny Richardson has built a reputation for capturing the beauty and spirit of her subjects — from beloved family pets to evocative English landscapes. Working from her studio in the Midlands, Penny creates timeless paintings that reflect both her technical skill and her deep emotional connection to the countryside around her.
Having studied art from a young age, Penny’s passion for painting has evolved into a full-time career spanning several decades. Her work includes pet portraits, horse paintings, landscapes, and architectural commissions, each produced with meticulous attention to detail and a genuine love of her craft. Whether she’s recreating the gentle expression of a dog, the majesty of a horse, or the tranquillity of the countryside, Penny’s paintings are instantly recognisable for their warmth, realism and sensitivity.
Although based in the Midlands, Penny works with clients all over the UK and beyond, producing bespoke commissions that often become treasured family heirlooms. Every painting begins with a personal consultation — either in person or via photographs — ensuring that she captures the personality and character of each subject perfectly. Her husband John Richardson often assists with photography and logistics, allowing Penny to focus entirely on her creative process.
